Source for aquarium safe sponges?

I'm looking for some aquarium safe sponges.. Preferably 12" long by 4" wide (bigger is ok, I can trim)..

They will be used for a prefilter on a trickle filter. I'd like them to be durable enough to rinse and reuse.

First would be to see if you have a foam dealer locally. Ask if they have or can get open cell foam.

Next would be a commercial janitorial supply store.

Some cloth / sewing stores carry foam that you may be able to use even if you have to double it. (make sure it's not treated / flame retardant).

check at a paint store they use sponges for different faux techniques
