I'm starting to shop large tanks for my next upgrade. I am thinking a 96x48x25 500 gallon. I would consider other sizes but width is an important factor as this will mainly be a ray tank. It looks like to get an acrylic one would be like $2500 plus quite a bit more to have it with overflows, bulkheads, etc. overall $3-4 k. It doesn't have to be acrylic, but it does have to have a nice viewing window (I don't want a pond). I know we all want big tanks, what are you doing to make it possible?

You can always add the overflows yourself. I built my overflow box and drilled the tank as well. They priced me $350 for the box but I built for $50.

As far as tanks search a wide area of Craigslist. A little drive can save a lot of money.

Also start searching for pumps now as well so if you see a killer deal you can jump on it.
