I've been looking for a single XL piece of driftwood (Malaysian) for my 150g to replace a few medium/large piece that are currently in my tank.
Most LFS have very small pieces, occasionally I find an XL one but the size or look isn't what I'm after.

I know of sites I can buy from online but would love to see the piece in person before purchasing.

Does anyone know where I may be able to purchase large pieces that isn't aquarium related? I've found plenty of Manzanita but no driftwood.

Appreciate any ideas. I'm located in Los Angeles to be specific but figured general tips could benefit more people who are looking as well.

Thanks.

You're in LA? Have you looked at a beach?

Try finding a river.
My dad works at fort benning and there is a river that we go to to find rocks, driftwood, and petrified driftwood. Boil whatever you find and let it dry out or bake it to make sure anything that was on it is dead.

This guy is in your area. I’ve purchased from him before. He imports the wood from Malaysia and usually has some pretty good size pieces. They’re all in the back of a box truck and you can rummage through to find a piece you like.
