i have a 55 gallon fish tank and i want to do all south American cichlids. what are some ones that wont out grow the tank ever. i like mean fish. right now i have i pike and a geo eartheater.

u could do female salvini but get rid of the geo he not a mean fish...

You could do a couple fire mouths, but definitely get rid of the geo they are very peaceful... I'd get rid of the pike too they get to big for that sized tank.

idk what you just said but depending on what type of pike, its prolly gonna need to be a loaner. some get very big and violent. if its a sax pike i'd go for a group of festivus. what type of geo. as stated earlier, geos prefer to be in groups and most will grow too large for a 125g.

Green terrors work good in a 55. you could put a pair of firemouths or something similar in there as well. I wouldnt do anything that mean or it would need to be alone, and also nothing that grows beyond 10-11" or so.

GTs are prolly not a great fit for a 55G, a pair would outgrow it ... IMO, anyway ... I liked the suggestion of Salvinis ... especially if you want "mean" fish ...
