An island somewhere......
Converted one of my tanks over into a South American growout tank (and a few other misc. fish). Currently housing:

33 - Satanoperca Daemon (2"-3")
2 - Geophagus Jurupari (2.5")
3 - Bosemani Rainbow (2")
5 - Corydoras Sterbai (1")

23 - Satanoperca Leucosticta (.75" in floating container)

I'll eventually thin out the tank once they get a little larger but until then, they're fed very well and water changes are done one/twice a week.

Wow, that's alot of daemons! They are looking really nice - as you probably know, these look better and better with age.

What are you feeding?

Thanks guys! The Daemons are still pretty bland but showing some red on the dorsal fins and patterns on their snout. I'm pretty much feeding them anything and everything to get some size on them. NLS, Hikari, Blackworms. Not 100% sure on what's "recommended" but they sure eat anything that goes in the tank.

Right on Sean, would love to see what you end up with in a year or so after thinning out. Is this tank one of the 270's? Full tank shot please?? :D Be careful with too much protien content in the S. Daemon diet. I have read accounts that suggest to much protien/fat and not enough veggie content in their staple diet can lead to issues like bloat. Google "gut analysis" in the wild and you'll see what I mean.

For example to put size on my size on my orange head group, I cut up market shrimp 3 days a week, actual cut up fresh veggies one day a week and various veggie pellets (omega/NLS mixture) the rest of the week. They went from about 3/4" to spawning in less than 10 months. ;)
