does anyone have experience with these? id love to ask you some questions.

awesome fish that is damn near impossible to get off live.

Rosie Reds aren't a good food choice as they contain thiamanase.
I used to feed mine baby cichlids and mealworms. Considering that they are naturally piscivorous, they should have heavy fish diet. The problem is that they eat a lot of fish and having a steady supply of small fish can be difficult.
I have never heard of anyone getting them off of live foods. It was hard to get them to take mealworms.
They pretty much need a dedicated species tank as well since they are easily out competed by most fish.

Is this the same as a Spotted African Leaf Fish?? If so, I had one for about a year until recently. I gave it away, but for a year, it was happy eating flakes and pellets, and living in my community tank. I can't say a neon or two didn't come up missing, but definitely was into flakes and pellets :)

Not the same fish. Not even vaguely related.

Leopard ctenopomas( which is the real name for "spotted African leaf fish", I wish Petsmart would stop making new exciting names for fish) are anabantoids. Essentially, gouramis with real big mouths. South American leaf fish belong to their own family.

ooops!! Rereading the thread, I wasn't even on the right continent! :C sorry...
