Well, I saw a south american lungfish at my LFS yesterday. It was the coolest fish I have ever seen. I can't reme, ber how much it was (I think like $15) but it was extremly small. It was maybe 2" and it was pitch black with a yellowish spot near the head. Is this a true south american because I always thought they were brown. I was just wondering because I am really considering this purchase and I have never had a lungfish before. Thanks

Chad

My South American Lungfish is about 10 years old. When I got him in 1998 he was about 12" long and took food out of my hand; but when he reached 2 feet he was taking food and fingers and that ended the hand feeding. He continues to grow, feeds on floating and sinking pellets as well as hot dogs scraps of fish and any thing he can catch. I expect him to reach 40” by the end of 2006.
