South American Lungfish

Here's my South American Lungfish feeding

at what size do the usually get more girth? mine is pretty slender at around 9-10" (Guesstimate). I'm planning to move him in one of my monster tanks but i'm afraid he could get sucked in the overflow

My 20" Sal was only about an 1.75-2" in diameter. Maybe a bit more. I know it didnt get super thick but it was starting to bulk up.

I know you posted your question a while ago (I just joined this forum)... Such a cute little guy you have there. When I got mine he was about 10 inches long. He didn't bulk up much at first but it became noticeable after almost 2 years when he started losing the yellow spots. Once he reached about 20 inches he was completely gray and really muscular. Now after about 6 years he is 30 inches long and nearly 3 inches thick and is a complete beast!
