Any suggestions on South American fish that enjoy the top of the tank. I have a deep tank and I'm trying to fill up the top levels. I have 2 Female Green Terrors, 2 Silver Dollars, 2 Clown Loaches, and 1 Pink Cichlid. Someone suggested Gold Killifish because they like the top but they are from Pakistan I'm fairly certain. Want to keep this tank strictly South American. They all get along great and I have no issues only when the Green Terrors lay eggs they one gets crusty.

yeah, unless your tank is at least 125g those GTs will probably really harass any other cichlid that goes in

The fresh water hatchet fish of the family Gasteropelecidae from S America are great surface dwellers, although you would need to find adults large enough to not be prey for the GTs.
They are adept jumpers, and often called fresh water flying fish, so you would need a tight fitting top cover to the tank.

I would add more silver dollars to your school especially if you have a breeding pair of terrors... they'll be more stressed just the two of them (go for ~6)
I wouldn't add hatchetfish, IMO, they will either be eaten or fly out of the tank.
Killifish are found in a lot of different places including S. America so don't rule them out just yet. If you want to be picky you can look around on the internet and find some for sale, I know I would be ;)
I thinking since you're asking bout killifish for the top level, you cant fit a black aro, huh?

The fish above is a Convict cichlid. As for a fish to help fill your tank, I would look into swordtails. They are cheap, come in many different color combinations, and I've had a few that have reached pretty nice size (3" to 4"). Also, they have mixed well, with my GT in the past. He didn't see them as a threat and didn't have the prey drive to go after them. However, it is important to remember that every case is different. Your pair may just gobble them up. Anyway, good luck. I'd like to know what you end up with.
