It's been a while since I posted an update of my South American collection. I've been growing out 6 Orange Head Tapajos about 3" that are coloring up nicely and added 5 F0 Henkel Discus which are still new and getting used to the tank. I also have 5 F0 Peruvian Scalare and 5 F0 Mesonauta egregius. I also throgh in the obigatory FTS. Thank is 225 gallons. I removed my Krobia pair to their own 55 gallon breeding tank so I can raise all the fry.

Gorgeous aquariums, brill job!

Thanks. I thought I posted this in the media section, guess I missed maybe a mod will come along and move it.

Tom, I really like the direction your going in with your tanks. It looks colorful, active, and peaceful. I was talking to a guy today who used to keep Discus. He said he had a hard time with them. His were not FO though. I've heard the same thing from other keepers. Is this your first time keeping them? Do you think being FO makes much difference in the amount of care they need. I have never kept Discus so i may be asking you too many questions. I just hear from other people and they make it seem like torture. In any case, I am very impressed with the species that you have chosen to keep. The plants are a nice touch. I hope everything continues to thrive for a long time. Good luck with the Krobia pair too.

Love the setup Tom, the fish all look great and that tank is amazing. I really like the centerpiece driftwood. Is that all one piece?

Very nice!

Thank you.

Nice setup Tom! Fish look great.

Thanks Peat. The Geos are comming along well, great fish glad I got them.

A really good natural setting you created, the fish can only thrive

Thanks it's always a work in progress but I like it so far.

Thanks Al. I've kept Discus in the past I didn't find them too hard to keep as long as you meet their needs. I never had wild ones before so I'm excited about getting them, Heckles were one of the fish on my bucket list. I do think being F0 makes a difference kinda like having Altums as opposed to tank raised Angles. My water is pretty good and I use a small amount of pete in the filter. We shall see how it turns out, fingers crossed.

Hi Justin, thanks the drift wood is all one piece about 2ft wide and 28" tall. $$$$ lol!
