Alrighty, I hope some of you are willing to help me out in a hurry. My best bud that has been a fish nut right along with me since we started is moving to Las Vegas soon....like 2 weeks and after a year and a half we finally can go fishing for all the stuff we dream about since we can't get it here in Daytona or our respective home areas. I have inverters to power air pumps and batt. pumps so thats no big deal. I just need to know where we need/should go so we can get a last pinch of fish fun in before he leaves. This is pretty important to me, been around and lived with this guy and caroused for chickies for over 5 years down here. :evil_lol: I'm bringing 3 casting nets cuz I'm pretty good with them (love my 10') but need to know what types of bait to use if/when we use poles. :help2:  :grinyes:

go down towards the keys when you get in florida city its the last big well sorta big town befor the beginign of the keys on rt 1. When you leave florida city going towards the keys. When you come to the first bridge there will be a turn off on the left hand side of the road. Bust a left drive to the end not far. Peacocks on ther right and cudas on the left. theres two canals one salt one fresh like 20 feet aprt. Thats where the trust was takeing a piss i beleve . Its called the airojet canal. There is other exotics there also. If you go back into florida city. Fish all the canals right in that imediate area and you will be able to bag some tilipia,. uros, gars and other exotics hope this helps hey neo give him a link to them maps i gave you

That sounds good to me. If you have time you should try the canals that run through the east side of dade county (miami). Lots of uros, oscars and jags and a few other suprises.

sweetness....wkedmidas, thank you. If anyone has any good directions like that it would be great!! I definately wouldn't mind doing a little traveling. Did anyone try the casting nets while you guys were out?? How deep is most of the water? Just wondering if the cast would even be worth it.

depending on the canal it can be from only a foot deep to up to ide guess maybe 12 or 15 feet deep. most of the canals are also cut threw rockbeds i beleve its lime or something like that i duno type for sure. most the canals minus the airojet is crystel clear down in florida city or was when i was there

Pretty much any canal in South Florida, South of West plam beach is good for net casting for all kinds of stuff. The Peacocks are further south, but you can catch all kind sof stuff pretty much anywhere. If you see a promising locale...just stop and pitch a few nets, see what turns up. You will be surprised.

Thanks guys, I totally appreciate it. I just repaired my 9' net and hopefully it wasn't in vain....it was a 3 foot tare!! I'm just gonna buy another one next time :wall: Anyways, I'll be leaving tomorrow and fish all day Fri. and Sat. and hopefully get some in on thurs. night. I really don't mind the dark. Keep the info coming if you've got some!!

go straight to the canals with some top water baits(lures) and small jig heads with curley tail grubs.... ull kill naything that swims on those 2 items. catch and realese unless ur putting some in ur fishtank ;)
