I was wondering if there are any fish clubs in South Jersey? I know there's some in North Jersey and PA, but I wanted to know if there are any ones closer to me. I'm interested in trading cichlids, and I read that the bestowed to do this is at a fish club. Thanks.

I was a member a a South Jersey Fish Club for several years until it closed 4 to 5 years ago due to lack of members and leadership to run it. The closest SNJ fish chub from you is across the river in Delaware County. http://www.dcas.us/ It's only about 30 to 40 min drive from your area and it meets monthly. I like to attend its annual auction to buy and sell fish at good price. *** is not a fish club, but a fish forum. It doesn't hold monthly meetings and is African cichlid heavy.

CCA is hosting AquaMania 2014 on Feb 28-Mar 2 at the Hilton in Gaithersburg, MD.

We're bringing in Anton Lamboj from Austria, Rusty Wessel from Louisville, Pam Chin from California and Shane Linder, who is a world catfish expert. Saturday night, March 1 will be a rare fish auction. Think 50-60 bags of only the best stuff around (vs. sitting around all day for a couple bags you might want).

We're having a huge marketplace (swap meet) on Sunday March 2 with bunches of vendors and hobbyists buying and selling fish and supplies. We've got a few already confirmed, including Jeff Rapps from Tangledupincichlids. Should be an awesome time and surpass the fun of last year, when we had a line of hundreds of folks lined up to buy/sell/trade fish :)

We'll have the website up soon, but put it on your calendar!

I've always wanted to attend one of these. I'm going to make sure I make it to this one. Some of the clubs are a little far for me. May be if there's not one I should try and start one. Does anyone InThe south jersey area know anything about setting up and maintaining a fish club? I got the idea because I have some breeding pairs of fish and I figured if there was a local fish club that would be a good way to move the fry. I figure at a club I could trade sell, and learn how to ship fry from other members who are well versed in shipping. Just a thought.
