Headed offshore towards the california banks, drove across the 14 mile bank and on to the 277 looking for kelp paddies or tuna. about 3 miles from the 277 we ran into a giant tuna boil and spent the rest of the day chasing around the school. they were being a tad finicky about what they wanted to eat so we only got 4 on board. if we had been using better bait (only had ****ty sardines) we would have got alot more.
afterwards stopped at catalina to kill the rest of the bait and got hooked into a gaint bottom dweller of some kind (probably a halibut). spooled me on 20 for about 15 minutes until the hook pulled.
