sp. Dabola and sp. Koloton?

I have always heard of those, saw them on africanmans stocklist also. I was wondering, what are they.
Lapradei varients i thought first, but i want some info on those.
Anne, Serg, Fishncash, CDM, el, infblue, uwe anyone who knows stuff about polypterus please give me some information on those!

The sp. "dabola" is still in question as it could be a wild hybrid between an endli and a lap. Sp. "koloton" is also in question as it could be a variant of a Guinea lap. Both species can be found in Guinea where the sp. "koliba" can also be found there.

There are more bichirs out there that we still don't know about especially the East side of Africa. Most of the bichirs that are being collected are from West Africa.
 
agree. sp. Koliba and sp. Koloton are almost identical, with only subtle differences. Anyway, it should be safe to say that these two belong in the P. bichir complex, and they're most likely variants of the Guinea lapradei.

As for sp. Dabola, this one is not as clear and debatable, as mentioned it seems to have characteristics of lapradei and endlicheri. we just don't really know until someone studies their genetic makeup (or publish the results, since i believe there are current studies, just not sure if it includes all these different variants).
