Sp.Faranah vs Faranah lap.

We haven't had one of these catch location debates in a while.

So i think im changing my stance on sp.candybar from being an sp. Faranah to a faranah lap.... i think lol

The reason why i wasnt sure that she was a faranah lap was mainly because of the shape of her head and her patterns. Along with comments in older threads and discussions on FB with king el

In this post framcosco is litterally describing what we think an sp.faranah is to be lol. But also gives reasons on why it could be an odd patterned flap



Candy bar is the 1st one in this pic. When she was in qt. All others are F.laps. those vertical lines are what many of us questioned.







After looking at some of photos of Hao f lap. They look similar enough to cast some doubt. What do you guys think ?

J jaws7777 the ones Hao has are the ones I showed you way back that we compared very close. Currently out of the poly game. And the more study them the more I see dabola as farahna laps. Just my 2 cents. I'll chi me in more later.

I'll add my, probably outdated, $.02. Because we can't test DNA etc and see what's in it. I'd be more comfortable calling these laps than endli by a long shot. Head is that of a lap. Even if you look at Nigerian laps, they have vertical bars that start up towards their tail. Not as intense to where the horizontal bar is gone, but it begins as it does progressively on these. My opinion they're a variant of lap.

Thats an interesting take. Sp.dabola will probably always stir up these debates.
For me i dont view sp.dabola as the cream of the crop like i used to.

Oh yeah no doubt it doesnt resemble and endli at all. At the time we were debating whether it was a faranah lap or what was thought to be an sp.faranah. catch locations discussions are always my favorites because like you say without DNA testing we really can only speculate.

For that piece they are laps and treated as so just a regional variation.

I think it's fun but alot of the sp I have seem lately even some in Asia I feel are very nice patterned farahna laps.

There is a sp I feel is still undescribed but i think the lines been blurred as of more recently since so many people myself included want to have one. I think the one you got from Hao a while back I believe you regret selling I see that more as a undescribed sp thank sp farahna.

Yes earl suggested calling it sp.tinkisso which makes sense since all of those water ways are connected

And im pretty sure on older stock lists faranah laps were list as sp.dabola or something like that. I dont think the members from back then are active anymore.

When i 1st got the lap Polyaddict86 saw sp.dabola in his assessment. Me i dont think the two are the same. But thats just my 2 cents

I saw sp. dabola cause it has to many vertical bars compared to other faranah laps, at that time i had two faranah laps and the vertical bars didnt go all the way toward the neck area.
