Sp. Tapajos with two lateral spots?

I can't find information on geophagus with two lateral spots on their flanks...does anyone have any information on why this is? I picked up 5 geos from a LFS in Pittsburgh over the week because they had the stripes on the caudal fins that were very pronounced and they looked special with the two spots. I got all 5. I'm thinking they are just tapajos with 2 spots. I'll post a pic tomorrow after they settle in a little

It's actually pretty common in some eartheaters. I know G. abalios and G. sp. 'Tapajos' can show two midlateral spots. Some of the non-Geophagus eartheaters, such as Acarichthys and Satanoperca, can exhibit this trait as well.

Ive noticed that in my group of 5, 4 of them all have the midlateral spots. Not all of them are very dark spots, but they are present.
