spa pump?

i've seen people using pool pumps on diy aquariums, i was wondering if anyone has used or heard of using a spa pump. they move as much or more than pool pumps, and some have variable pump rates. would running 24/7 be a problem. or are there other problems?

Do it to it.. no problem doing so.. but the intake and output tends to be a bit big and theres not as much head pressure

i was looking more at the gpm, highest pool pump i've seen is 147, spa at 21 gpm. both at 35ft head max. head height and head pressure the same thing, or is there more i get to learn about?

You need to really watch GPH ratings on pumps and you really need to look at the amount of electricity the pump will use. Sometimes it's better to spend a little more on a pump to save a lot of money a year on electricity.
