Anyone using them as return pumps from a sump?? I did a search and didn't get any results that gave me the info that I wad looking for.

I've been looking around for cost saving alternatives to a Pan World or Reef flo return pump. It seems that you can get some really high flow rates at good prices.

Are they crazy loud or anything? Has anyone here used a spa pump?

Thanks,

Just to keep this short, I'm more qualified than anyone on here to answer your questions, so... just give up now. It will save you both time and money.

Using the right equipment for the right job will save you a lot of headache.

Spa pumps = high wattage draw and noise.

I figured. Every hot tub I've ever been in was loud as hell with the pump running...Just wanted to confirm my thoughts and make sure that someone didn't make a high quality and quiet spa pump.

Not only is it loud, but think about how much pressure comes out of each nozzle and there is like 10 of them. The flow would be way overkill for anything under 3000 gals or so.

Somebody one here uses/used a spa pump, but I think it was in the tank more like a powerhead? Anyone remember this? Big tank with big pacu maybe?
