In Nepal moringua paddletail eel lives in freshwater...its inland state...but often they are caught in river mouths in INDIA...

You can get this eel to live successfully in freshwater but most reports show that it does best in brackish. I would suggest keeping in some level of salt. How long a the eel you have roughly?
note that they don’t adapt to change well and hence can take a while to feed.

i have eel two weeks.Other fishes with eel are: tire track eel, stone loach, crosocheilus loach and goldline knivefish...all fishes are small sizes or juveniles.all fishes are feeding with frozen bloodworms.

I'd say give it a little more time, maybe put out the food at night in the dark with no lights on.
