Ive just posted this on here as i was getting no feed back from the breeding section
In my 6x2x2 ive got a group of 6 rare geophagus areos, 2 male, 4 female. And ive noticed today that a big female has gone all fat and here vent is out, and she has paired of with a male who has gone quite dark and is chasing off the other fish. The really look ready to breed.
I think that inadvertantly ive conditioned them to breed as to keep nitrate low ive done 3 large waterchanges this week and fed lots of bloodworm and brineshrimp for my rays and African tiger. I think this has conditioned them.
Chances of survival in my tank are low even though they are mouth brooders but id like to say ive bred them and watch them.
Any tips on getting them ready?
Also if i rasie any young i will have F1 youngsters of a rare species, but now with the tiger any young will certainly become food,
