Spawning and eggs question

Once the pbass have spawned and the eggs are all over the rock. Do you leave them in until they are free swimming or would they still hatch if the rock is removed from the tank and placed in a grow out tank (with tank water from the main tank)??
I ask because I don't want any of the other thugs in the tank to snack on any surviving babies. Thanks.
