spawning carp vs lmb

The last 2 times I haven't gotten a single bite. In areas less than 1' deep its been one big carp orgy and I've seen carp where I usually get lots of bass. Is it possible that the carp are clearing out the bass to spawn ?

Oh yeah the carps can clearing out anything from sunfish to bass & bowfin from the spawning areas.

Happens alot here in smaller holes.....but thats when the bowfishers usually start their thing
