this is my second pair that spawned in the month i got them. i have 8 in a 50 gallon and they are pretty peaceful even during spawning. they are all around 3" at the moment.
in any case here are the pictures

eggs - around 100 or so? not a huge spawn, but the female is less than 3"

Thats awesome man!!! Gymnos are great fish!! Props on breeding them! Thats cool in itself. I've only gotten jags, salvini, convicts, and rams to breed for me. None of the harder species...

congrats hopefully you have lots of free swimmers soon

thanks for the complements
to be honest, and i'm not being boastful at all when i say this, these are not hard to spawn. in fact i would consider them to be as easy as convicts or what not. just provide clean water, a nice environment without more aggressive fish around and they will sort themselves out
i'm not an advanced aquarist by any means (i don't even know my water parameters!!! shhhhhhhhhhhh), but i've kept fish for a long time so i pretty much know what i need to be doing. fish keeping isn't rocket science... or else i would have failed (econ major :D :D :D)

i had free wrigglers around a week and a half ago but my tank got infested with ich and i had to nuke the tank with salt, clout, and whatever ich medication i had. on top of that i had a hair algae infestation so naturally, along with the 33% water changes i was doing on an every other day basis, the first batch died. this second batch i hope will be luckier ;)

no they are gymnogeophagus
related to geophagus but somewhat different lol
not a scientific answer at all, but there are articles out there that can explain this much better than me

congrats on the spawn. nice looking setup you got going there too. :)
