spawning jewels

although they breed like crazy from what I hear, I am still proud to see my jewels spawn. the question I had is whether the fry would grow similar in size during a time frame to convict fry so I know if I can move them into a joint fry tank. thanks for any help!

Those are great looking fish, and good pics you took. Congrats on the spawning. I just wish I could get a pair of Jewels. I wish I could answer you question. I have never had small fry from Jewels so I do not know their growth rate?

they seeem to actually be growing close to the same rate for now, so I think it will work out ok until they are a bit larger and I can seperate them back out. I thought they would be difficult to tell apart, but are very different even as very small fry! I will try to get pics of them if i can get it clear enough. are you in indianapolis? thats only about 4 1/2 hrs from here. let me know if you ever come visit st louis and I can hook you up with some jewels

In my opinion, jewels will out grow the cons. I've raised both and convict babies never grow that fast. The babies that I have now are two months old and are a hair shy of 2 inches.
