I have a 75g with a spawning pair of JDs and convicts. Territory is established, however JDs are now wiggles and convict eggs are two days old and about to bust. When they do, will the two types of fry interact or will parents keep things well segregated? Anyone have experience with a double spawn? Should I expect aggression to decrease/ increase post spawn? Anyone want fry? I went from 8 fish to 400. Monster baby fish keeper.

Also female convict has no orange/yellow belly I've read everywhere about. Has anyone experienced this? Thx.

There are some cons that won't have an orange in the belly. I've seen females with little orange on the belly. As long as they spawn ur good. But the genetics of the female might be passed down to the offspring so you'll probably get a bunch of females that don't have orange in their bellies.

As for the fry, I think they won't interact. The parents will herd them and keep them together while taking them to different spots in the tank within their territory. The aggression and stress levels will most definitely rise because when the fry become free swimming they will venture more and there will be instances of the two pairs fighting because of the fry.

I suggest putting a divider between them. The more stressed the parents get the higher chance of them eating the fry.
