spawning

hello there.
my cobalt blue cichlids just spawned and i have just stripped the female of what i thought were the fries but actually it were the eggs.
should i have let the eggs stay in her mouth until they hatch?

Wrong section but I would have let them stay until they hatched and made sure she was in a tank with only her and the male
