Now I know what this stuff is and I always recommend it to my customers and know it works great... But this may sound like a bit of a silly question... But when I use this stuff to cycle out my tank do there HAVE to be fish in the tank since I am adding the "waste" in myself plus the Bacteria?

What he was saying is you need to have an ammonia source in order for the bacteria to help cycle the tank. You can do it with or without fish. It's always better and safer to do a fishless cycle. And that's what you would use the ammonia for

I'm pretty sure that's what the special blend is intended for though at least that's what is stated on the bottle. If I'm using pure ammonia what water treatment should I use since prime gets rid of ammonia
