I thought retics were the ones with the really long tails? If not, what are those called? Anyway, if this is a reticulata, is this what they all look like or is this a special variant? I really like this ray. If anyone has any more info on it that would be appreciated.

it maybe be darker due to stress

retics are the rays with longer tails the tail may have been broken this happens alot with retics tiger and flower rays

i think that tail is not broken, it has that little flag on the end...

Likely a common Peruvian Motoro variant with very dark colors..

I have seen a few 'commons' or 'false histrix' come in with very dark patterns, almost black.

Not any sort of true black ray though..

Well, I really like this ray. I've heard retics are hard to care for. Can they live with other ray types? What are their specific requirements (what makes them more difficult to keep)? Is retic and antenna stingray the same?

retics are no harder to care for than other rays its just they are imported at a smaller size than other rays
