A friend of mine bought a tank that came with fish and couldn't keep all of them so he brought some to me.
However, I'm having some difficulty ID'ing a few of them.
One in particular he thought was a jewel cichlid. However, it looks like a light-colored (almost pink) Hemichromis bimaculatus with "black peppering" around his dorsal fin.
I'll try to get a picture soon, but I just put them in my tank last night and it will require putting him in a specimen cup to get a picture. I don't want to stress him out. He's a cool-looking fish, but there may be some possible compatibility issues for both myself and my friend, so a proper ID would be helpful.
