Species ID

A guy had this fish on sale along with this photo..He doesnt know what species this is, he is just assuming it is an American Cichlid.
The photo is bad so it doesnt help very much.However someone might be able to tell what species this is..
So any help?thanks in advance

Looks like it could be Tilapine, but very hard to tell, the photo really isn't clear enough.
