Hi everyone, well its that time again and this months pick was the almighty Midas!!:headbang2Now i truly love these fish. they have so much personality and attitude its no wonder they are so desired;) I just purchased a male white midas and hes 4.5" and started peeling white, kinda looks like a cream cycle at the moment. and this guy isnt as aggressive as all the others ive raised. lol im sure he will come into his own soon enough. the pics arent the greatest:) but you can see where he's peeling under his gills and belly. im looking forward to this lil dude growing into a beast.
I do know that there is alot of midas fans out there with some incredible specimans:D So lets see whats out there and who has the largest. also feel free to include personal expiriences and info pertaining to raising, sexing, tank size etc. thank you everyone.

These threads are a blast! I keep a bunch of cichlids from the midas complex. As far as A. citrinellum at the moment I have an F1 piebald/marbled male and an F1 barred male. Here's an older shot of my piebald male. I'll get an updated shot of this fella and a photo of my barred male citrinellum in the next day or so.

Awesome fish and pics guys. I love the deep orange/red they display With the lighter tones on their body's.and with all the. Other species I've kept these guys are by far have the trend of being very social And personalized.

Jason I looked at this thread this morning and did not recognize your midas lol man it has grown. Steve this female may look familiar to you.

Man Modest Man has he came around. The earlier pics you posted when you were struggling with him always put a doubt in my mind about getting one. Love the color. I started leaning towards a Trimac but that might have changed now. How is the personality, is he coming out more as a center piece fish?

Oh yeah, he still gets freaked out every once in a while and will hide but for the most part he will follow you back and forth biting at the glass. Jumps up out of the water to be fed. Digs all around and redecorates to his liking. I assume he'll keep getting more personable as he gets larger, he still has plenty growing to do.
