Species of the Month: Vieja Argentea

Alright this month is being dedicated to the Argentea a very Beautiful and majestic fish.I used to have some last year starting at 1" when I got them and being 6" when I sold the last one. If I can find any pics ill post.

So lets see what everyone has I've always had a hard time sexing these... any tips from our experts? Also how big do they get? I know there are a lot of stunners out there.so please post and add any info ie, tankmates, foods, water parameters, pairing etc.

i had an argentea for years. he was so mean i couldn't put anything else in the tank except some polypterus.

I have heard Argentea are a shy fish. Is this true or does it vary from fish to fish?

Jason, there are a lot of tribute threads. But as for species of the month I have posted festae for August, umbees for September, odos for October and argentea for November.
