Was watching my three stripped raphael interacting today after doing another tank switch from the QT tanks. First time I've seen them out of their caves after a week of cowering in their new home.
For about 30 minutes the raphaels were in the front of the tank where there is clearing with no decor in the way- I was watching them bulldoze each other- one would wait until the other one was on the other side and then would swim fast to ram into the other one then the other cat would do the same thing back when the cat that was just rammed go upwards, its like they're using the water and the force of the hit to "fly" upwards- It looked like they were enjoying that- never seen it before however
then that cat that was just rammed- would go back down then then dart to the other side and do the same thing and the other cat would do the same thing "fly" upwards- I will grab a camera and try to video it next time it happens it looked like they were having fun as the 3rd one, smallest of two though would join in as well but with the size difference it didnt last with the 3rd one as the other two were equal in size. So the smallest one took a breather then join in then take a break. However it made me think it was a dominance thing due to the fact that the biggest 2 were males however when the smallest one joined in the fray- it seemed she was having fun?
however I was curious if other peoples catfish any kind that has the same build/armour like the raphaels do the same thing with each other?
