speeding it up

i have a male and female bass....they are paired up and the female i have i know is fertile and she is ready to go she gets ready to lays eggs then he goes to the other side of the tank.....so basically i was wondering if there is anyway i can speed up the maturity of the male......he is 12in so its weird he isnt mature yet...no hump.....should i just get rid of him and get another male or wait it out....they seem to be really good together

wait it out your possitive its a male? you have vent checked? and give it time if so. they will get to it when the time comes..
