Okay I know that it takes about a month to cycle a tank either useing fish, adding ammonia, or fishless. But I was wondering if I put 2 used median from another tank will it be cycled?? Meaning I take 2 of my filter media from my other emperor 400 from a well establised tank and put it in this new one.

So the tank should be cycled right?? Or should I test out the water and what not to see if its cycled? Reason being is that their are gold fish in their and its been abou 4days or so and no one died, also I changed it to the old media just 2 days ago.

It should cycle since you seeded with the same stuff that already has enough beneficial bacteria to allow you to add fish immediately. You might get a small ammonia/nitrite blip though so check if you need a water change after adding the fish to be safe.

Will do boss, also what is the best turn rate for filtration.

Whatcha keeping in there? Goldfish? 10x turnover rate.

Ohh Im keeping a jar and hes about 5in.

I was wondering if I add ceramic rings within the filter will this help much with the filtration??

They aren't all they are cracked up to be. Just get a large sponge filter in the tank sponges have very good surface area for bb.

It will help with your bio by greatly increasing surface area for BB to grow. If you can, get a very good biomedia like seachem matrix or pond matrix.
