Or are they that rare?

I've grown this fella from 2" to 10" in 2 years (paid £1.99 for him).He seems a very sociable fella ....sofar.:)

I have a Sperata that I bought from Wharf the beginning of the year. Cost about £60 I think so I reckon 31.99 is a pretty good deal!!!

He is about 14" now

They grow big (look on planet catfish) and turn territoral. They had a 29" one at Wharf that ragged a big Giraffe Cat.

When bigger they look stunning cruising a large aquaria.

What are you feeding him?

Hi Darren(you aint gonna believe this but my name is Darren in the real world aswell)
That was £1.99 not £31.99 that I paid for it ,So I got one hellova deal:headbang2
He pretty much eats anything that hits the bottom, Earlier this week I noticed that he is now big enough to suck up Hikari Pleco tabs and swallow in one go!!I think that annoyed the Sultan plec thats in with him.
As for growing big I found somewhere(dont remember where) that the biggest ever caught (in the Ganges I think) was 7 ft 6inches!!Its regarded more as a Game fish than aquatic pet it seems.Mine lives in a 5x2x2 atm but when he outgrows that I'll have to sell him on and thanks to your comments I now have a ballpark figure to charge:thumbsup:

Hi, I meant to put £ instead of 3 but either way you would have done well.

Mine loves frozen prawns, worms, mussels and live shrimps. At the moment he is good as gold but will wait and see if he changes. I also have a Mystus Wykii and an Asian Red Tail and they are spiteful so live on their own. I reckon if you can run to an 8-10l X 3w X 2w aquaria you would be able to keep him.
Enjoy.
Darren
