spider identification please?

from eastern massachusetts. found this monster out side on my deck, hes about the size of a half dollar and eats hornets all the time. took the pics with my iphone 5s

thing is huge! I see spiders like this all the time but they are small... not sure what there called.

It's a species of orb-weaver.

^ yup, they are all over my deck too in WNY. Had to check n make sure they weren't poisonous because one fell on me and bit me a couple months back. Was sketched out it was a little recluse

not a dangerous spider, they can be found all over the us. that would be a female. males are small. its is not a brown recluse, lol,

It looks like the spider that has spun a big vertical web on my porch.I thought it was some kind of garden spider.

Thats exactly what orb weavers are. they come in a lot of varieties.
