Here
Does anyone have their polypterus tanks hardscaped with spider wood or gold vine I think it’s called? I have quite a few large pieces I was going to put in with my Senegal’s but am worried since they are quite active and not the best with sight they may do some damage to themselves or lose an eye.
Think it could be an issue? Would also try to cover each piece with java fern and other plants.

I have a large and a smaller piece of spiderwood in my 90gal with 4 poly's for about 5 months now. Haven't had any issues. Polys are 6"-9+" now, 4-5" when started. Some of mine get startled and dart around if I'm not careful around the tank. That's when I'd be worried, but even that hasn't caused a problem

Can definitely work but always a possibility one could damage its eye
