Not dead-Rather a bit frozen though...He warmed up after I brought him in and decided to move around until my shoe got a hold of it that is....So yeah I guess your right-It's dead now.....
Nice Lense. Canon makes some good stuff.
I shoot with a Sigma 150mm Macro f/2.8 and a Canon 40-D
I also have a Canon Twin Flash I use when it's dark around my subject.
But mostly, I just use a low profile tripod.....And hope the critter does not move.

Well done-You got some great subjects to shoot-I have tried my hand at a few of them and had no luck-I'm gonna work on our huge drangonfly's soon though.....
