Building my bearded dragon a new home. Going to lowes in the morning to have them cut my wood on there table saw since I don't have one. The enclosure will be 4 ft long, 2 ft wide and 20 inches tall. 75ish gallons I'm guessing if it was going to be a fish tank. The wood is 3/4 inch marine grade plywood. I know I don't need this wood for a dragon enclosure but I have 2 sheets laying around. The glass is going to be from a busted 55 gallon I have. the only thing I can not decide on is weither or not I should make the front be on hinges with a latch or be built in solid. Suggestions welcome. Another issue is that the wood is pine. Although treated it would more than likely be poisonious to my beardie so I have to coat it in something. I have some black barn and fence paint (oil based, weather resistant) but again, not sure if its harmful to reptiles or if it'd be fine. I may also build a canopy from other plywood so I can hide the lights and wires, there not the best looking things. Ill post pics tomorrow after the wood gets cut.

Went to lowes this morning to have my wood cut and came across a pc of 3/8 ply for $6. So instead of wasting the marine grade I bought this 3/8 and had it cut to size. I'm going to have to trim the wood at work but atleast its cut into the general size. Here is a pick of the bottom, back and 2 sides. Its not attached, just leaned up.

Correction. Its 1/2" plywood. And instead of screwing it together I'm going to use an air nailer to assemble it. Less chance of busting out. Will have what is pictured done tonight. Then I'm going to seal it somehow. Then build the front portion. Its going on hinges with a lock up top to keep it shut. I may end up buying a peice of glass for $20 instead of taking that 55 apart. I don't really have the time or patients for it.

I've decided pine is to risky, and by the time I buy a sealer ill have as much in it as I would one that's. Furniture quality. I'm going back to lowes to buy some birch or red oak plywood and will cut and assemble it tomorrow night
