Hello. It's my first post. I have a dilemma. Hope someone can help me with the best decision.

My senegal polypt is now 13 months old. I should be happy, since he had this spine 'curvature' from he was about 2 months. But I am worried now because I start to see some deterioration. The curvature is now more pronounced. If you've seen someone with scoliosis, he looks just like that. He's not eating much and i think the malnutrition constitutes to the deterioration. His fins are sort of damaged. I'm not so sure if my other bichir is the one who caused he fin damaged. I occasionally see my other bichir kind of bullying him, nipping him when they bump unto each other.

In regards to his eating, Toothless has this weird manner which he tends to grab the salmon bits but immediately spit it out. I'm not sure whether because it's hard for him to swallow now or he just doesnt like salmon anymore. He's been doing this for a while no matter what i feed him. The other newer bichir eats perfectly fine. As a matter of fact, i call him Dumbo, since he has an appetite and is bigger even though he is younger.

I think he's having a hard time swallowing the food. Even with the very soft, tank water soaked pellets. Probably because of the constriction? I also notice that he sort of get a mini seizure, where he's kind of jerking?

I'm getting worried about his condition. Any suggestion will be apprciated. What do you think is the best thing to do about his curvature, also about his eating, his fins, and the probable bullying? I'll post a pic or video for reference. Thank you so much.

I had a delhezi that one day I noticed its spine was an s shape or a kink. Kind of like that but not as bad. He couldn't move the bottom part of the body below the kink but was still eating. Swam real strange and freaked out, I was thinking about putting it out of its misery, but it fixed itself one day and was fine again. I don't know if there is anything you can do for it, I think I was just lucky but it was screwed up for around a week not a poly lifetime.

i think its parasite dude i noticed a reddish color at the side of your senagalus i maybe wrong but it looks like it, if it were a spine tumor then its bad,, my bichir had one at first it was a lump like a mosquito bite then it turned red, a reddish lump it was a parasite worm,

He just had that reddish, (i actually consider it bloody) this morning. He is starting to deteriorate, and he is probably not able to fiight off parasites and other illnesses anymore :(. The lump itself isn't reddish. That's he damaged/bloody fin. The past two days i start to notice that his fins are getting damaged. I also suspect bullying from my other bichir but most of the damages are on unlikely places. He's had this curvature for almost a year now. I always think that he's going to get through this, but now I'm thinking of putting him out of his misery. He wants to eat but his body just can't. It's heart breaking... :(
