Hi everybody,

My friend has given me a channa auranti. that was given to him for free by an LFS. anyways he has what looks like lumps on his spine. If you look at him from the top view you can see these lumps. I'll try take pics of it tmr i can't find my camera right now. It kinda looks like he his body is too small for his spine so his spine curves at certain points making it look liks he has lumps. It also looks like he has HITH. I don't know the conditions of the tank he was in at the LFS, but they said that when they got him he wasn't like that. My friend said he found him in a small tank. Other than that he is showing amazing colouring, and eating well.

Get a picture as soon as you can. It's hard to say for sure without a visual, or knowing the conditions of the last tank it was in. You mentioned your friend told you it was in a small tank - that right there can do it. Tanks too small for a species can cause it to have physical deformities, including - though not limited to, a twisted spine. If you think your SH has HITH, you really need to take some pictures, and read up on some of the threads on here which cover that. There are a few from a couple months back that I know Guppy, myself, oddball, as well as others were working on, just do a search. But please do get the pix soon -k-! Thanks.
