Okay,I KNOW dealers who can get you one, however, none(besides one)are on this site. Two,your going to need a chiller, and a good one at that.Three, how large of a tank do you have? These guys need their space, but Zoodiver or someone else may be able to give you a better tank estimate. And finally you need the money to provide it with it's food items.Sharks will NOT take pellets,no matter what. They are virtually unheard of in the aquarium trade.Smoothhounds are more common and a MUCH better choice.

Agreed Smooth hounds are a much better choice than the Spiny Dogfish.

Spiny Dogfishes generallly need water temps under 65F, grow to be 5 ft long, and tend to be harder & more difficult to keep than a similar sized Smooth hound. As for tank/pond size - wouldn't suggest any thing smaller than a pond that had 310 sq.ft.(20' diameter) and a volume of at least 9,400 galllons for a single Spiny Dogfish. Although personally I wouldn't recommend this species.

Spiny dogs also like groups together, so I'd get about 5. Which means tank volume must be HUGE! Be prepared for both initial set up cost and long term care cost to be very high.....even for a shark.
