I have a 10-11 inche Fire eel.. and I saw a Tire Track that was about the same size.. are spinys generally compatible... I understand that each fish has its own personality... but is there a general rule of thumb regarding their compatibility
Thanx

yes most of the time there pretty aggressive twords each other i've herd that fire and tire track eels very intolorent of each other i've seen fire eels with other fire eels and same with tire tracks but less often but i've never kept a fire eels togeather with a tire track and have never seen it done but i've heard it doesn't work also it appears they get more aggressive with other eels as they get older

so i'd say no it most likely won't work

:iagree:

I have heard and read the same thing.

Providing two seperate caves and a large enough tank I think it would workout. They can be aggressive to other species, but I think you could get away with it under the right circumstance.

We had the mix turn out pretty badly at a store I worked at, but if there are plenty of territory and hidey holes, it could be attempted with no guarantees of course.

I have had a 12" tire track with 2 12" fire eels, the tire track would beat on both fire eels badly... i had to move the TT to a diffrent tank... not a good combo at all IMO
