can someone id this spiny eel for me from these crappy pictures? i bought this little guy a few months back, it was labeled as a peacock eel, but it has a different looking tail and pattern than any of the other peacock eels ive had, striped or otherwise. first off, there are no spots on the tail. also, unlike any peacock eels ive had, including an 8in one in the same tank as this one, this guy will eat food out of my hand like the tiretracks and fire eel do even though he's slightly over two inches and the other spiny eels are all 8" and up.

we'll its not peacock or zigzag don't think its a tire track but its some species of spiney eel theres a few of them

it's tail ends with a fan like the peacock eel(different from tiretracks or zig zags) but the fan part is more integrated into the back top and bottom fins and is more rounded than the peacocks

It looks like either a Macrognathus pancalus or Macrognathus keithi...

Definitely not a peacock eel.

thanks! after comparing pictures of both, i can say it is a Macrognathus pancalus without a doubt
