So my lil guy has this issue going on in one spiracle. If the pics come up in order it should be the progression over the last few days. Seemed to whiten up and cover the second day then peel like a scab. Last few days not much improvement.

I have no idea what this is for sure. Looks almost like a wound or a bite? Other tankmates are a trio of 6-8" Lemon fin barbs, a 5" Brycon ( only one I'd really suspect, new to tank a few weeks ago) and a 8" Aimara. There's several pieces of driftwood in there as well. Maybe ran into one?

Been doing more WCs then normal, little bit of salt added. Barbs moved already, Brycon will be too.

Anyone ever see anything similar? Does it look like a simple wound or something totally different like a flesh eating plague? :nilly: :WHOA:

I had this on one of my motoros aswell, i concluded witht he fact that it was a wound.. But its a weird place to get to? I have some small multispinosa that is laying eggs in the tank, and they chase the rays by picking their eyes, but i dont think they have the teth to actually make a wound like that. (7cm size fish). It went away with clean water and lots of food.

100% a bite from another ray,i have a little Leo female that kept doing this to a larger Henlei,i've had exactly the same thing with my Pearl male causing this to his much bigger female, scabs up and falls off.Once a mark like this is evident then fish like Barbs will sometimes peck at it,isolate it Al just for a few days and you will see i am right in what i'm saying.
All the best!

Yup my rays do it to eachother all the time. They pounce on eachother and try to suck and bite on speracles

That Henleo from you gets nuts at feeding time, suppose it coulda been her. Only other ray in the tank.

Thanks guys......

Al I had the same issue with my Male Marble in the exact same place. I deduced it to my Silver Dollars as I caught them picking at the white spots on my blackies. I sold them and never had an issue afterwards. I would definitely say something is picking or biting.

So it might be that friggin Brycon? I'll have to watch that lil bugger once I move it, assuming the wolf doesn't off it now that the dithers are gone.

Seems wierd that all was well for months upon months then I add the Brycon a couple weeks ago and now this.
