SPITTING FRONT

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If your front has reached about 8", he's mature enough to spawn, lay claim to females, and stake out his territory. Spitting gravel in your direction is his way of warning you away from his claimed territory.

Most cichlids move gravel, nothing to be concerned with

Thats why u go barebottom or get rocks to big for them to move :)

That is a natural reaction for cichlids why restrict them, it is not hurting anything:screwy:

:iagree:
Plus, I think its more fun to watch them redecorate.

You should give your fish a somewhat natural eniviroment, bare bottemed is not natural:(

Very true!!

Frontosa come from cliffs not gravel not sand actually the bottom of lake Tanganyika is mud, but they do not reside that far down. so anything is better then BB,

out of all the years i kept Frontosa i found they were much better off with a sandy bottom verses gravel. and as they spook so easy BB is even worse. :D

just make sure you do not have any leaning rocks that could fall on them out the outer walls of your tank.

I personaly enjoy seeing them spit out the gravel!! It's cool to see a different fish's behavior,
