This is my 90gal tank. There's a split in the top piece of plastic trim. The previous owner never bothered to fix it and from what I can tell ran it successfully for many years without problems. Will this affect the overall strength of the tank and how do I go about fixing it?

I would like to try and stay clear of the "lessons learned" portion of the forum. :D

Is this a big problem, if so how do I fix it. As I said in my first post from what I can tell the previous owner ran the tank for many years without problems.

I myself, wouldn't worry about it too much. As long as the horiziontal supports are still connected, you should be good. If you are still worried about it, go to the hardware store and pick up some plastic epoxy/glue. Drain 1/2 to 3/4s of the water out of the tank and then glue it. Let it sit, then fill.

The 125 I have has about four cracks in the frame around it. Seems to hold just fine.

Maybe I'll just leave it alone then. :)

well as most people say i wouldnt worry about it
my 55gall is broken on top support, which holds middle of the tank , well i just made couple holes , tide is up with paracord and clue it with silicone, it holds water fine , for more then 2 years now so its ok
