I currently have a 150g tank and I am picking up a 75g tank next week. I am torn between splitting the stock of my current 150g and putting some into the new 75g or using the 75g for a Tropheus setup. My 150g is well stocked but haven't had any real aggression issues and not running into any nitrate problems or anything.

150g Stocklist: 1 x Female Gold Sev, 1 x Female Nic 'macaw', 1 x Male Crenicichla Lucius, 1 x Female Salvini, 1 x Male Stalsbergi, 1 x Unknown Vieja Regani, 1 x Zig Zag Eel, 6 x Columbian Tetras, 5 x Yoyo Loaches, 3 x Clown Loaches, 1 x Female BN Pleco

If I thinned out my stock of the 150g I would move over all the loaches and increase my Clown Loach number by 3-5 and once they got beefed up would move them back to the 150g while keeping the Yoyos in the 75g. Would then move over the Sev, Sal and the Pike probably.

I'm really torn on what way to go as both options are appealing. I haven't kept africans in awhile and have always thought a Tropheus tank looked good.

I say go with a new setup... Part of the fun of getting a new tank is starting over with a clean slate, imo, unless your 150 feels too cramped

If you have no promblems in your 150 now leave it be. With cichlids sometimes moving fish around cause all hell to break loose.
