Anybody here has setup where the return from a single pump from the sump is split into 2?
currently the return from my sump goes into an overhead filter box before returning to my main tank.
but i bought a new pump which is about 3-4 times stronger, was thinking if i can still use my OHF, i want to split the return into 2, anybody here has this kind of setup?

I usually have at least 3 tanks to each sump.
Splitting is no problem, as long as the pump is strong enough, and you set your valve for inflow to each tank correctly.

In the pic above there are 3 tanks on one 50 gal sump on the left side of the aisle, and on the right side of the aisle, another 3 tanks on a 75 gal sump.

Yes, I use a single DC return pump that I split with a PVC T (through internal overflow) and eventually locline returns to the tank. Just as visual, but you can basically run as needed for your set-up. It will work best if your pump has the output.

Yeah you can do that. My 180 has two returns off 1 pump I didn't bother putting any ball valves as the difference in this case on either side wouldn't matter and it really wouldn't be far off either. When I had my salt set up I had 1 hammerhead running 4 different tanks from the same sump. It was technically 3 because 1 tank fed another before return to the sump. I had ball valves on the outputs of those.
